Climate Activist Defenders provides emergency responses and safety resources, while building a support network inside the climate justice movement. We make vital support available to protect and enable the fight for climate justice.

Since 2021, CAD has responded to over 800 requests for support and is estimated to have impacted over 3,500 individuals through the support provided in 60 countries. We verify the cases thoroughly to ensure support goes directly to climate justice activists at risk because of their activism and advocacy. In 2025, we received 44 requests from Indigenous communities and supported 48 cases requiring temporary relocation. Additionally, 65% of the people we supported were reaching out for the first time.
